2 different guitar tones - your fave one?

Hi,

I start mixing the new album of a death metal band. I reamped the guitars and I kept the best 2 tones that are really good imho but also really different. I tend to prefer the Engl, it sounds more brutal but is also less clean to me compared to the Diezel (both are slightly processed). All the songs are mid-tempo and only rhythm oriented.

engl sounds weird, narrow and doesn't fit to the drums. and sounds not more brutal in my ears. go with the diezel or try something different cab/EQ wise with the engl because i woudn't say that it's amp but cab/IR/EQ or whatever related.

Thanks a lot guys for your inputs! In fact, the more I was listening to the Diezel version, the more I loved it. And the band prefers it as well.
To answer to SinquestSound and Red Phoenix, these are kpa profiles that I tweakted then processed in PT (VCC, light EQ, UBK-1 and VTM). What you noticed as bad with the Engl is maybe due to the quick processing.
