Yo!

Just wonderin' if anyone knows whether or not Opeth plan to record, or are already recording, the current tour for CD/DVD release. If not, that set list is a terrible thing to waste!! It's an amazing setlist, and NEEDS to be documented, goddammit!! They need to do something with it...and not 2 or 3years from now!!:Smug:

Anyone?

Well, I still think they should do it. Opeth is getting more and more popular, but I still consider them somewhat in a cult status. There are other bands out there who regularly put live shows on CD/DVD, and since Opeth has 9 studio albums out there, I think they sould definitely get involved in recording live performances for release. I understand it may be overkill for the band, but they should (if not already have) think about hiring an archivist to organize all their live stuff. I'd assume they have a ton of shit recorded from shows, more or less for personal reasons. Time to put that shit out, boys! What fan wouldn't eat that up? Imagine going to the music store and seeing "Opeth - Live" selections from different tours. :kickass::kickass:

...and I'm not talking about taking the best parts of the whole tour and slapping it all together to make one live set. I'm talking about recordings of full shows. If you ask me, I think that'd be pretty fucking awesome!

...my opinion, of course...

...and the hardcore collectors out there (which there is a whole thread on "Opeth collections") would definitely be giving their cranks frequent knuckle-jobs on a regular basis!!

Win - win situation in my book!

im gonna say no on this. roundhouse is taking soooo long to come out, i dont think they are focusing on another live cd/dvd. although it would be nice!

I doubt Opeth will be doing any releases whatsoever for the next two-three years. Though I remember reading somewhere Mike's looking for writing new material pretty soon. This was somewhere around last Spring.

I think they'll wait for another live DVD when the new line-up has really settled in and with another album with this line-up out ... More recordings would be nice though I guess. But the Roundhouse Tapes definitely is a piece to conclude an era.

Although I would be bloody over the moon if we got Opeth live material - its totally not gonna happen until - at least they release another record :P

Yeah, that makes sense. The outlook, so far, is good. Mike seems to be extremely happy with the way things are going, so that's a good sign. We'll just see what the future brings!

Stop fucking delaying it and fucking release this fucking fuck already! :kickass:

(please don't censor this post) :zombie:

I will say that the one thing missing from Lamentations and Roundhouse is Mike's fuckin hilarious commentary between songs. Whenever they do get around to recording another live release, I think they should include that stuff.
