2nd hand G4 or PC built to Spec?

OK,

I've got a mate who's prepared to build me a new PC for my musical needs, but on the other hand an engineer buddy is selling his G4 Mac.

Question is will a old mac run better than a new PC?

I leave it to you the jury, to give your two cents.

Picking your OS is what it comes down to. Unless you feel like running a Hackintosh, you're picking the OS - and thus your software, most specifically your plugins - here.

3 macs here and would NEVER work on a PC again (other than porn and games)

depends on the g4 if its any slower than a mirror door dual 1.25 forget it. save for a g5 or mac pro
