what's the deal ?....throw me a bone here.........and no i'm not impressed with a vague update every couple of months........sorry for the rant..

I am a little antsy as well but I will get over it when it finally does come out. All I can really get a little angry with is the very rare updates that don't tell us much about the progress they have made. BTW, whatever happened to that fanclub cd that was supposed to be sent quite a few months ago?

Oh bitch, bitch, bitch. Symphony X doesn't have any obligation to get the albums out any faster than they feel necessary.

All I am hoping for is a solid album with a little better production quality than "The Odyssey". I don't know about anyone else, but the entire album has a very slight tinge of a depressing tone to it. I can't single it out, but it just doesn't sit well with me. Especially on songs like "Awakenings" and "The Odyssey". The rest aren't hard for me to listen to, but those 2 just sound dreary to me for some reason.

Has anyone else noticed this?

what happened? [to Blind Guardian]

ohhhhh no, that is bad, the drummer left, I smell a breakup.

Not good.

Still, that does NOT necessarily mean a breakup. For starters, this thing looks to have been civil--the fact that they care about an out-of-band friendship indicates it. I don't think this is going to be like Pink Floyd, with a bunch of stupid sniping that ultimately does them in for good. They could get a new drummer and be back...it might take longer, but you never know. Note that last line in Hansi's message especially. ;)

Remember too that Symphony X has dealt with lineup changes on multiple occasions, and have survived.

The fan club cd is finally (!!) about to be pressed, news on that will be sent to the members when available. I'll be getting in touch with MJR this week for a studio update as well; just hope The Dungeon's not underwater in all that rain NJ's been getting.

Could you PM me with info about the CD so as not to clutter up this thread with stuff everybody else knows? ;)

No kidding about that rain, I hope their houses and all their stuff is OK! And if that place is in South Jersey, I guarantee it's gonna take a LONG time for the water to drain away. One little rainshower and you have flash floods.

Memories... ;)

Well, if you want them to put out albums faster then forget about touring and all that. MJR and crew know that it takes time to do something "right". Cmon, it's SX! It's not like Metallica where we wait 6 years for a POS to come out that could have taken 1 day to record.

I'm more than happy to wait as long is it takes for SX to be happy with what they are going to give us.
