4.5" to 5" monitor recommendations?

Need something to use at home since I'm going to be leaving my BX8as at the recording/rehearsal space and they are too big to really fit on my desk comfortably anyways... I was thinking BX5as, but I sort of wanted to go with a different brand so that once I have a proper "studio" set up somewhere I'll have 2 sets to A/B between and I'm worried that the BX5as and BX8as might be voiced too similarily to make it worthwhile...

I was looking at the Mackie MR5s and Yamaha H50Ms, anyone have any other suggestions? Trying to keep it at around $300 for the pair.

Check out the Event ALP5's, I couldn't be happier with mine. They're $329 at MF, so they fit your budget nicely. Gavin has a pair of these also, and AFAIK he's happy with them, too.

I have the Yamaha H50Ms and I´m happy with it. As I don´t know much about monitors it took me some days of research on the internet, and as almost all reviews were positive I finnaly bought it. At that time I was comparing the KRK RP5s, Alesis, Behringer, NS10 and M-Audio, all on the same price range.

If your lucky like me, a pair of NS10s from ebay...but you still need an amp.

i bought a pair of KRK RP5, they sound very good, very easy to get used to them, i used to have a pair of BX5,in my opion KRK sound better
