I'm 14...like Detormet. And Bergtatt is the best Ulver album-no doubt.
Wich Abigor Albums do you know Detormet, for they're quite diffenernt.I like the old stuff like Verwüstung and Orkblut....Orkblut is the best Blackmetal EP i know, and one best BM CDs i own,for it has its one style and does not sound like a Darkthrone copy...

I haven't heard any cds, Just back in my 56k/Audiogalaxy days some guy from a group sent me 3 of thier songs. I can't remember what they were because I reformated shortly after. I did a shitload of downloading last night.
Just thought I would say I really like fog, They are good.
Some of zyklon songs sound like marduk, The others sound like a death metal band.Taake's Nattestid Ser Porten Vid cd sounds awesome so far. Is Darkthrone's ravishing Grimness is one of thier newer cds?
I'm listening to Nattens Madrigal right now on track 1, Sounds fucking good so far.

Hey everyone....I was told by some friends of mine that I would like Norwegian Metal....so I looked into it but I'm having some trouble finding bands in this genre....If you guys would be so kind as to list some bands from the Norwegian Metal scene for me to get...It would be greatly appreciated....Thanks in advance....

You can check the thread "Top 5 Norwegian Bands...", most of the good bands from Norway are mentioned there. But I was really curious about your refering to Norwegian Metal as a genre, there are many different scenes in that country...

Yes as henrik says we do have alot of great Extreme Metal bands...

Some bands that you could check out...

Black Metal:

Darkthrone
Old Man's Child (the oldest stuff is the best)
Gorgoroth

Folk/Viking Metal:

Einherjer
Windir
Kampfar

...isn't that predictable?

I'm a somewhat pathetic Norwegian as I haven't even heard Emperor yet (I'm looking for it) but I'm trying to pick up more Norwegian metal...

is there any out there that is really creative and strays from the double bass and overly cheesy lyrics? what I've found so far has been just that...

any exceptionally good and creative metal that's more than just toughness and grimness for its own sake?

thank ye

Morgul

It's a fucking disgrace how the sane and unable rule the world
I need to disconnect and scatter my violent perfect illusions
Catastrophic mind error, ghastly, bizarre, spiteful, vengeful, hateful, a mind set on destruction
Dominion of antichrist, Amen!
Would you not hate the sea that's drowning you?
Would you not curse the woods if you were lost?
I cannot see the moon nor the stars
Only the icy touch of an endless ocean
And I am so alone, so alone
No one knows my misery
You will learn, you will feel,
I'll take you with me into the depths of insanity, misery, to hell.

Plenty.

Try for starters:

Arcturus
-Radical Cut
-The Chaos Path
-Wintry Grey

Borknagar
-Fandens Alheim
-The Presence is Ominous
-The Genuine Pulse

Solefald
-When The Moon Is On The Wave
-Philosophical Revolt
-Mont Blanc Providence Crow

Ulver (early)
-I Troldskog Faren Vild
-Kledt I Nattens Farger
-Hymn IV

Eirik; Get som Perished if you can! :o)
And definitely Arcturus, Borknagar and Ulver yeah :o)
Also try out Lengsel if you haven't already! Most people into
Opeth find Lengsel interesting. They have an mp3.com site
if it's not taken down...
