512Mb 6800 Ultra?....

Nvidia announced they will premiere a 512mb version of the 6800 series
DDR3 and maybe a tad faster who knows... i got mixed reviews bout the X800 Pro and XT speeds some said the Pro will have 900mhz mem and some said 1,000mhz and XT will have 1,200.. kinda messed up..

512mb? I don't really see why at this point... but sounds like the hardware is driving the software at this point...

Yeah, we've still seen no need for 256mb cards, is 512mb really neccessary? I reckon the only reason nVidia have gone with the 256mb ones is because of all the preaching they did about how it was superior when the FX came out.

ATI is also in the process of releasing a 512mb video card suppoedly coming out in X-mas time... its kinda like monkey see monkey do...i guess...

A lot of the 256mb cards that are out are just shit loads of memory but arent actually that fast. Quite often the high end 128mb cards are faster than the 256mb cards. 512mb will be stupidly expensive when it does come out
