5150....too dark?

Personally I really love that tone, but its hard to say how well it would sit in the mix.
 
holy crap, sounds good man! typical 5150 sound to it, it is a bit dark, but that's no disadvantage in my opinion.
 
It definitely needs some high-freqs enhance. Don’t be afraid to boost that knob, you’ll need those extra highs to make it cut thru the mix.
 
Recently while trying out my new guitar I started out with quite a dark (a bit muddy, too) tone and it just didn't sound right: mp3 A
I did end up with a nice result by processing it

but it would have been better if I'd just used different settings.
 
I like it a lot, but I agree, if you want "the perfect mix", you probably need less low frequencies. I'd like to hear it in a mix and work on making it work. I'm sure you could do it with a bit of effort. Keep us posted on your results!
