Fifty one fifty for sure, it's a police code ain't it? How would they say it?

5150 is the seventh album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1986. This was the first album recorded with new lead singer Sammy Hagar, who replaced David Lee Roth.

It was named after Eddie Van Halen's home studio, 5150, which is a California police term for a mentally disturbed person (a reference to Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code).

Interesting!

sammy hagar and other vh members call their album fifty one fifty, and considering that 5150 was modeled after eddie in the first place, fifty one fifty it is...

Huh, I thought it was the code for public nudity, or something like that.

Yeah, it was a code for some kinda mental disorder...Ed's studio named after that code, and so is the album and the amp. Btw, according to wiki;

Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (specifically, the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act or "LPS") which allows a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person deemed (or feared) to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or her self, and/or others and/or gravely disabled. A qualified officer, which includes any California peace officer, as well as any specifically designated county clinician, can request the confinement after signing a written declaration. When used as a term, 5150 (pronounced "fifty-one-fifty") can informally refer to the person being confined or to the declaration itself
