Dusk (Hun) - Average. Couldn't imagine listening to this more than a handful of times before becoming bored.

Ok, based on that one track alone, it's well produced, but monontonous speedy black metal without a trace of atmosphere. And I will say, that if I can't have any kind of groove or melody in my black metal, I absolutely need atmosphere to make it work for me and keep my interest. Thumbs down, but again, only based on this track. However, given that Mark is strongly in favor of it, I'd be intrigued to hear more based on that alone.

Far more atmosphere than the Hungarian Dusk, which I did not expect. As far as doom/death metal goes, it's a little TOO slow paced for my tastes, but did hold my interest and had more to offer as a whole than that other track, particularly the guitar work from the 1:03 mark to the 1:35 mark. Thumbs in the middle, but am intrigued enough to want to hear more.

There's just much more going on in the "Envision the Terror" song. I found it for a wopping $12 on another distro. So if Dark One buys your copy Mark, no worries. Ahh 3 of the members went on to form the now defunct "Aphotic" I see. Stillness Grows is a pretty decent album. I'm presuming the "Aphotic/Dusk" split is better aye? Seeing as how this song is superior to anything on the Stillness album. I think I shall listen to it again

Oh and the Dusk from Hungary. While being decent, all that it was comprised of was 2 tremolo picked riffs of mediocrity.
