First of all thank you all for the valuable information you guys post here. Unfortunately I have become some what addicted to this forum and achieving a good sound that I never get any songwriting done nor do i really achieve a good sound. So my solution is to finally put something up, so I'm posting this simple clip I threw together a little bit ago and hopefully get some constructive criticism so i can get past my little problem and record some real songs.

I apologize in advance for the panning of the drums. I suck.

The guitars have a nice full sound to them, but I can't give too much comment on the tone being good because the riffs played were all similar in feel. We would probably be able to get more of an idea about how the tone works in an overall mix if you were to play some tight chunky palm muting stuff as well, but understandable, it's only a small clip and I think it sounds pretty nice.

As 006 said, never move the snare from the center when panning drums, because the snare is something that gets hit a lot, and having it off center makes the mix seem to be unbalanced and lean towards the side that you have the snare panned to, which generally isn't what anyone wants to do.
