We're supposed to do single at the uni with A and B side as recording and mixing excercise (it is the main project of the first year), this is the A-side. We chose this 80s kinda rock as our style, so I tried to mix it so that it sounds kinda the same way (lots of awful sounding reverb and sidechained pink noise on the snare etc ), but with a hint of 00s blended in. We will not use sample replacement or beat detective, because that would be cheating
We recorded live drums (that I played like shit, haven't drummed for 6 years before that) with 16 mics, but eventually I ditched 9 of them in the mixing phase, because we were also testing out some micing techniques and for example the closemiced hihat and ride tracks were useless (I didn't hit the ride for once and the hihat just sounded like someone was stabbing my ear). I was left with 2 overheads, PZM kick, snare top+btm and 3 toms. I also noticed that the drums were in awful tuning, so I ended up with this:

Hints, suggestions on the drums? The guitars and bass are still just demoversions, we will re-track them next week.
