94.7 in Chicago is now an oldies station?!?

Rem, that station has been schizophrenic for the longest time. Isn't that the station that also used to be WWBZ - The Blaze?

That's what sucks about commercial radio - so quick to jump formats at the sound of a mouse fart.

The Blaze was 103.5. Which turned to the kickass Rock 103.5. And, of course, that station went off the air in '98. (Right after they had their Rockstock concert which Anthrax played)

94.7 was a pretty decent station. More importantly, it's one of the few stations that got reception in my building at work.

Boo corporate pricks!

I guess I have to rely on my MP3 player more.

Holy shit i didnt even know that!! And i live in chicago. God damn that sucks, although that station played al ittle emo they still played heavy stuff. that sucks. I'll tell my friends..

cheers,
metalthrasher

people still listen to corporate FM stations. More talk less rock. Satellite radio or MP3 playerz..thats the future. Fuck FM, I would rather listen to nothing than anything from Clear Channel.

General commercial radio sucks, period. Listen to CD's or tapes in your car or at home or listen to various cool programs offered on college radio stations, if you have that option. Trust me, it's good for the soul.:Smug:

You're right. My bad.

Just for fun, I listened to about five minutes of this new station... fucking SUCKS. Sounds like they're using a canned program out of New York or something... absolutely no soul to it. As much as I hate him, at least Dick Biondi put some emotion behind his show.
