A different sound?

How comes Heretic sounds really different to most of thier usual stuf? i'm not sure if i like the change in sound? ...
but dont get me wrong they are still a kick-ass band I just wanna know what the deal with this new sound?

or am i gonna get stick for this thread?

i've read that trey wanted a more "old school" sound. they also recorded at a different studio, with a different producer
