Wow...all these months of talking about him, and look who I bumped into during a Peter Cetera concert earlier tonight.

^that is awesome!! how was the show?

The Peter Cetera concert was pretty good, as he brought in a couple of guitarists, a pianist, a female percussionist/vocalist and an conductor from Chicago (the city, not the band) and Nashville, and hired members of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. He performed some of his classic Chicago songs, as well as his solo hits. Will post videos of the show on another thread later on.

He is a man who knows how lucky he is and seems so genuine in this pic. Did he get mobbed by people?

Actually, he wasn't mobbed. During the show, there was a 15-minute intermission. He happened to walk to our side while carrying his son to talk to some friends in front of us. So, as he was on his way back to his seat, I took this opportunity to stop him from across the front of the stage and meet him. What a nice guy he is.:)

BTW, Arnel invited me to see him perform live at the Mall of Asia next month. :headbang:

Very cool Jeremy. You'll have to post some pics from the show he invited you to. So the question is "Will you wear The Iron Maidens t-shirt to the show AND get a picture with Arny?" That would be cool.

Haha, that would be a riot. And I'll tell him we've been talking about him here on the boards.

BTW, when he told me about next month's gig, I thought it was just him (and possibly his old band The Zoo), but Journey posted that date on their blog as part of their upcoming tour.

This probably means security will be very heavy on that day and I will least likely bump into him unless there's an autograph session.

I was so thrilled for them to find Arnel. The band is full of terrific people, and he's just one more to the list. He's humble and gracious.....in fact, so was Steve Augeri was was their singer in the band when I did the artwork for the album cover for them. I am soooo happy to see them back getting the attention they deserve.

Hey may be good, but the track record for unknowns replacing originals has nver been good :

iron maiden
judas priest
skid row
the doors
inxs
black sabbath
gnr
soon aerosmith lol

eg: People start demanding the original singer, so the original singer rejoins, a big press release is made, and a huge worldwide "reunion" tour is arranged which nets everyone millions of dollars, the replaced singer go gets a day job.

music biz eh? :)

In this case, which would you predict will happen first?

a) Steve Perry rejoining Journey.
b) Peter Cetera rejoining Chicago.
c) Tarja Turunen rejoining Nightwish.

At last night's David Foster & Friends show here in Manila, Arnel made a guest appearance. Here he is doing a rendition of a Chicago classic. BTW, this is not my video.

Steve Perry will never rejoin Journey...and you won't hear this officially....but it's because his voice is shot. He can't sing those notes anymore.
