Aim of the game is to get 4 circles/markers of your own in a row/straight line, whether horizontally, vertically or diagonally, before the other team does. It's just like the real-life game connect 4, so there's gravity, meaning none of the markers float in the middle of the board, you drop them into slots. Pretend you are dropping marker into a slot along the top row and it drops either to the bottom row, or on top of another marker if there's one already there

well, first i thought it was only vertically, and when i realized it could be done horizontally too, they beat us in the diagonal sense.
