I understand that not EVERYTHING can be included in the movies that was in the books. As a matter of fact, there's a lot of stuff in the book that didn't really need to be there in the first place.

But still, Saruman is a main character in the first two movies. That would be like getting rid Merry or Pippin.

Yes, it's kind of weird. Saruman isn't that important to the plot of RotK, which mainly deals with the war with Sauron, but it's a damn shame if they've cut the whole thing with Saruman and Angmar and I don't understand how they will start the movie. They just ride east and Merry&Pippin have mysteriously appeared next to them?

Saruman's impalement will be in the extended edition DVD, which is fine with me as his role in RoTK was mild. I believe that if it was up to Peter Jackson, he would put everything in the cinema release but they're cutting down the time.

they just did it so more people would buy the extended DVD, they just want to make more money off it. i loved the first movie, *hated* the second one with all the stupid inecessary changes (RIP faramir) and laughed when i heard this news. it was the "i told you so" moment i had been waiting for.

Yea, it kinda blows I really like Chris Lee. Well I guess I have to wait to buy the Extended version to see the scene.

Not sure if it was mentioned but... the scene, which I will not say, is technically filmed but will appear on the EXTENDED version of "RotK". So I guess the reason for cutting it out was due to time, story (since its mainly about a 'King'), and maybe sequence. so don't really fear but i do understand why Lee is so upset.
