A Little Info On WINDS

Hello, everyone!


Well...I've seen CD's in my local record store by the group Winds, and the whole package looks great. But you can never judge a book by it's cover.

What kind of metal do these guys play?

They play a mix of classical and metal, very progressive with blistering guitar solos and melancholic vocals. Plenty of piano bits, and they use an actual string quartet. Amazing stuff.

p.s. along w/ this you should also get Age of Silence-Acceleration and Andy Winter-Shades of Light Through Black and White, both of which are exceptional.

Oooooooooooooo...that sounds pretty cool!


Is it symphonic like Rhapsody or more piano-driven like some goth-metal bands...

Or is it somewhat epic like Opeth or Agalloch?

I'm pretty excited...I just may pick up the CD I saw in my local record store!

Okay...

I took a listen to the samples...

It sounds NOTHING like Rhapsody, goth-metal, Opeth, OR Agalloch. It sounds great...

The vocals I couldn't really get into, but I know I could get used to them.

Hehe, true, you can't really make a reference between Winds and any other band, they're unique.

Winds is unlike any other band. their clean, yet powerful guitars; technical and amazing solos; melodic vocals, etc. JC summed the majority of it. I just had to post in this because i can't stress enough of how much these guys deserve our ears and hearts. their music is amazing.
