The band is called A Thousend Bright Tomorrows. I Just finished mixing the songs that we recorded about a month ago. We recorded the two songs in a one weekend. I put some photos here to show how the drums and everything were mic'ed. Also here's a one song just after the recordings(not mixed):

Sounds very cool. Both production and music.

Guitar tone is almost perfect for this kind of music.

The unmixed sample sounds already great.

By the way i noticed you used Koch amps... I had never heard about those before i came to Finland... I remember being quite impressed by the tone i got when i first tried it in some shop in TRE.

Thanks! This is part of my graduation work (final showcase) in AE school. It was recorded (and mixed) in the studio in my school.

One of my teachers said that the drums didn't fit with the rest of the mix. That they sounded too good. What do you guys think?

It was the first time I heard it too. I was too impressed how good it sounded. Very cool amp.

.

that's actually what I thought, I almost preferred the "unmixed" drums and thought if they'd be mixed a bit and (without any samples) it would have been better than polishing themm too much.

more roommics/overheads etc

you could as well youse a fair bit of parallel compression on the overheads to bring up the kit in them and some ambience
