I've had this bass for a few years now and it plays perfectly fine except for the fact that it is terribly unbalanced. It's vey hard to try maneuver the fretboard when you have to constantly hold it up.
Any ideas as to how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated....

Move the strp in to the back of the guitar on the neck heel this might help. If that doesnt move the pin to a lower part ... Keep moving the front strp pin down till its in balance.

Those brownsville guitars sure look cool, but they are unbalanced as hell. They dont try and balance it when its a low end guitar....

You could also try adding some weight to the back of the guitar near the ass end. This will have 2 benefits. Balance the guitar better and give you more sustain and a deeper tone. More mass = More sustain and Resonance... this usually equals better tone.

Good Luck

Naaaah..."cheap" is what you make it. Fate's Melissa record was recorded
with Cort and Squire guitars, a stomp box distortion and a 100w Marshall... and is perfect.
Just move that strap point behind the neck plate area like dude said and it should be cool. I'm surprised they put it up on that forward point in the first place.
