Drum question...

Hmm, I know there's at least one person here who plays drums, and I suppose Darkspot does own a drumset, but apart from them I suppose asking this question is slightly futile, but that is besides the point, here.

Just got a LP Gajate Foot Pedal Bracket, and was looking for ideas of what to put on it. I would think ideally a wood block or jam block, but I don't think that would quite make it over the noise of the other instruments, and I doubt it would be good for it to hit it hard. So should I go for some sort of bell, or just see if a jam block breaks easily?

I play Death metal with a Cowbell. it works great. I just used and old bass drum pedal, a block of wood, duct tape, a cpw bell and a metal rod, and it has stayed together for almost a year now.
