A request for some odd harmony.....

Oh well...I wasn't really referring to Zak at all, but I thought you were more interested in the counterpoint vocals. I've always thought dentist offices should pipe in Spock's Beard and Neal Morse, so I guess you and I aren't on the same page then.

Great thread! This is one of those things in music that blows my mind, too. I listened to every song posted.

Savatage's Chance is the ultimate example of it, IMO. Not only the way each voice comes in separately to build and build and build up to the final conclusion, but also how the technique fits the storyline of the song perfectly: the main character has all these voices competing in his head on what decision he should make, until they coalesce into one incredible and fateful choice.
