i've been undergoing deeper on my squirrel research...

I once came home to a dead squirel in my driveway... or, at least, the lower half of one. The half-squirel was sitting where my jeep had been, and the consensus seems to be that a cat must have brought it under there for purposes of clandestine consumption, only to leave its meal half uneaten. It was so cleanly severed, though, that I can't help thinking that it might have been up in the engine somewhere, cut in half when the car suddenly started.
Animal control wouldn't take it, and I was advised to double-bag it and put it in the garbage. I couldn't bring myself to TOUCH it, so I used one of those 3' long robot claw toys to lift it into a bag... and then threw the toy out with the half-squirel. "
