Pain of Salvation has some funky basslines on Entropia (mainly in the songs People Passing By and Nightmist)

uh, actually that was somewhat commonplace for awhile.

Mmmm should've been more specific. I know there was some funk influenced metal bands in the 80s/early 90s. But I was looking for something a bit more extreme on both sides. Like, Parliament Funkadelic mixed with modern Death Metal kind of stuff if such a thing exists.

Although their worst album, Atheist - Elements has quite a bit of funk influence.
