Check it dudes! The most recent release to come out of Sonic Assault Studios!

I Produced/Engineered/Tracked/Mixed this and of course Phil The Beard did his fair share of engineering and tracking!!!

Mastered by Alan Douches.

ALSO (first single off the album):

Just thought I'd throw something up since it's been SO LONG and introduce you to these MONSTER players if you've never heard them before!

No need for critiques unless their positive because the record is already out, LOL.
KIDDING!!!
BUT, I literally had TWO DAYS to finish mixing the record (which was only maybe 75% done prior to that) so that Alan could get it done in time!

Vague deets!!:
Live Drums (samples mixed in on shells of course) in our new live room (tons of room mics)
ALL rhythm guitars were QUAD-TRACKED but I honestly forget which amps I used for each L+R pair, haha. I'm sure Phil remembers and he'll chime in!
Cab was Mesa OS in the sweespot of our live room with a single 57 > Neve 1073 w/EQ on the way in, I do know that!
Bass was Re-amped through an EDEN HT-500 and it's matching 4x12 cab > Beta52 and 57 > Neve w/EQ once again on the way in.
Vox were an SM7 handheld in the control room > ancient tube mixer > 160VU > Neve again (notice a trend here? LOL) EQ engaged with some fairly substantial boosts, all on the way in!
COMMIT! =D

Dude, nice nice nice job!
Think the band is way cool!
But i´m sorry to say, the mix isnt really my cup of tea. Dont get me wrong charles, but i tend to feel that the mix is a bit muddy. Is this true, you only had 2 days to mix the record?

CJ already knows I dig this a ton. I personally think it's a lot cleaner than the EP, tones are great all around!

One thing I really love is the bass dirt and the odd subtle effect on the chugs at 1:30 if you don't mind sharing. ;)

CHARLES! I love this, and I love Abiotic, and I love you. I like the sound on this a lot, it's very unique like a lot of your mixes. Great vibes and great tunes! Cheers for getting a metal blade release under your belt, it's a dream of mine haha

ahahaha, awwwww <3 <3, thanks man!!!

and yeah, doing a Metal Blade release is STILL crazy to me, hahaha... =D

glad you dig it!

That's right, Phil! Now I remember... exactly right and defo 1x57!

Thanks for the kind words guys, UNIQUE is always the name of the game for me, maybe not CONSCIOUSLY, but subconsciously for sure.... I just hear each record I do totally different and always start a record from absolute ZERO, blank session so that has to account for some of that...

@Marcus; Bass was EDEN mic'ed up and I believe I did a dupe of the bass DI and ran it through our 87' RAT...

The odd effect on those chugs is actually just an idea I had to make that part stand out... I had Matt play VERY dissonant chugs over that part (1 L and 1 R) and I think just filtered them to give it that weird, beyond the speakers kind of sound... it was mostly in the notes played that makes it stand out so much.... I thought it was cool and had never really heard it done before, haha...

and YES, as I said, I was about 75% done with the MIX but not all the songs had THAT mix applied to them; so on top of FINISHING off the mix I also had to apply that to half of the songs on the record, all in TWO DAYS. Hahaha, but I was close enough to where it wasn't TOO bad but HOLY BATMAN talk about stress!

Alans' mastering definitely changed the overall sound of my mix quite a bit... came out darker, a bit muddier, etc but the low-end glues nicely and overall I'm happy with how it came out. It defo translates well to ANY system; as in it sounds about the same no matter what you listen on... so that's cool.

It was my FIRST experience, LITERALLY, having someone else master one of my mixes, as I PREFER, GREATLY, to mix AND MASTER all of my stuff.... but hey, it's Alan Douches and who better to be the first than one of the best! hahah

Cheers loves <3

Man, the high pitched voice sounds so fucking weird! I guess it fits the song!lol

Thanks so much Heabow! Practice Practice Practice!!!

And yeah, haha, but that's literally just how Ray's highs sound. He's a HUGE C.O.F. fan.... only processing on them is the outboard I ran on the way in for tube/transformer saturation and compression =D

Sounds crazy good Charles :) Too bad you didnt blend the destroyer kick in this ;) haha kidding, killer tones as usual man

thanks guys and yeah, so pressed for time!!! hahaha. <3 <3 <3

I love all the 'unique sounding' references... i find with my stuff it's either you absolutely LOVE it or you hate it, hate may be too strong, but, haha...

to me that's a good thing though. every production and mix starts from zero so my mixes come out of me just by the way im feeling at that particular time and how that influences my vision, choice of gear, and processing, etc...

=D
