Acoustic curtains

Anyone use acoustic sound proofing curtains? I've got a furnaces thats noisy and completely walling it off isn't quite an option. Will they be able to absorb the sub frequencies and does any one have any recommendations of a good company or material for diy?

No. Sub frequencies require mass. Lots of it.
The key here is the part of the text that says "An economic method of reducing reverberant noise[...]".

Sorry but you're stuck turning it off. You'd be looking at significant construction to isolate it enough to eliminate sub frequencies from bleeding into your room.
