Adam Carolla goes on rant about OWS

You should be careful when reading words like "functionally" in front of "impossible."

:kickass:

Adam Carolla is a talentless fucking moron.

Look guys I see a lot of misinformation on this shit (fox news anyone?)

if you believe that corporations shouldn't be allowed to own the government. if you believe that wall street thieves should go to jail. if you believe that freedom of speech is a human right. then you might be down with OWS.
But don't take my word, go down to one near you. See how many "dumbass lazy dreadlocked hippies there aren't
To say "protesting makes no difference" when in a few short months it changed the entire dialog of the beltway is just fucking nuts (all due respect)

I went to zuchotti park and I fucking loved it, I wish I was there now. I can promise you, I'm not lazy, looking for a handout etc. I'm a successful almost 1 percenter, but I also love my country and believe the measure of a man lies in his heart, not his wallet. I can assure you AdamCarolla has NOTHING I am envious of.

OK Lets see what we have here...

"The 1% broke it - now fix it."

It's not as simple as that.

The main cause of the current crisis is too big optimism pumping the bubble beyond the limit, followed by the normal old panic after L Bros fell.

When people are afraid to invest money, the economy slows down - simple as that.

Now who's fault was that the bubble was pumped to the point it burst ?

We can put the blame on ALL optimists who took too big loans (mostly ordinary people), ALL optimists who gave too big loans (banks), ALL optimists who invested in stock shares and new/old enterprises.

In world economy, too much fear is bad and too much optimism is bad.

When we have a crisis, unemployment rises, life is tougher...

------------------------------

"The bank stole my home."

Yeah right, they came to your home and put a pistol to your head forcing you to write off the ownership to them...

------------------------------

"Regulate Banks."

They are already regulated by law and by the market and you can choose the best offer available.

No one forces you to put your signature on a bad deal.

-------------------------------

"Banks got bailed out, we got sold out."

Heh... ask most economy experts and they would tell you what hell would happen if they let banks to go bankrupt...

Would you like YOUR bank to die ?

Do you know what would happen with your money on your account ?

Do you remember pictures of southern American people storming banks to take out their money, but returning home with nothing ?

Can you see how just one big bank bankrupcy put so much fear of risk into all other banks that they limited their lending actions by increasing %s (
less money in the economy = crisis = less jobs) ?

Looks like what these OWS loonies want is the total fall of the whole financial system...

Bailouts were a necessary evil, but i would do it much better.

-------------------------------

"Put banks on trial."

For what ?

For having too big trust in that you would pay off your debt ?

If you have an evidence of any wrongdoing, go to your local public prosecutor.

-------------------------------

"Tax the rich."

They already pay more than you, getting the same service back from the country.

By law they have exactly the same rights, they have exactly the same protection from the police, fire, military and other forces, but they pay more than you.

How would you feel if you had to pay 10 times more for your beer, just because you earned more than an average citizen ?

I will tell you how you would feel: "i'm being robbed, there is no reason to work so hard if i have to pay more for the same thing, i think i will move to another country soon".

If you tax the rich too much, they have options which most of you don't have: they can move to a country that doesn't suck their money out as much, they can fire some of their employees and make the remaining ones work a little bit harder, they can sligthly increase prices of their products fuelling the inflation and in effect dropping the burden on you.

-------------------------------

"Get $ out of politics."

What a nice slogan... sadly this will never happen.

I want a magical unicorn that would teleport me in space and time and 3 sex hungry girls who would let me ride them every day each with none of that "i have a headache" bullshit.

-------------------------------

Who can blame the media for concentrating their attention on such idiotic and controversial slogans ?

Yes i know that all these people want is to live a nice and easy life and like everyone i share their dream.

They just have absolutely no idea what needs to be done to make that dream a reality.

In time I will rebut I promise.
It is 4am where I am though, I must sleep.
While I do will you please answer a question for me?

You're in Poland? You are polish I presume?
If so, what is your opinion on the solidarity movement that your current democracy is founded on? It effected amazing changes across the entire eastern bloc. I find it fascinating that someone who is literally able to speak to me BECAUSE protestors took a stand against injustice comes down on the side of the oppressors when it comes to MY country and MY movement. It really blows my mind.

Yep.

That old Solidarity was different in so many ways...

They had a real and proper structure, they had clear goals and reasonable demands.

They really had most of the nation behind them.

The OWS has nothing of the above, thats why i think they are just wasting their time.

They only have few nice sounding slogans and nothing more.

As i already said, i share their dream, but the way they want to realize that dream is just not going to work.

I find it fascinating that someone who is literally able to speak to me BECAUSE protestors took a stand against injustice comes down on the side of the oppressors when it comes to MY country and MY movement. It really blows my mind.

Where exactly did i took side with the oppressors ?

I am on your side bro.

I just want you to put your life energy into some other movement that would be able to make a real change.

The OWS is just wasting your precious time.

I just wanted to say that I take no responsibility for saying inflammatory comments in this thread. I was brainwashed by advertising and the media and therefore I am not responsible for my behavior.

Luckily I attend a freestyle poetry recital at an organic union paid sustainable coffee shop yesterday and my mind has cleared of the brainwashing.

I now realize that American college students being obligated to pay back their student loans is totally equivalent to people being shot and murdered in Libya and Syria. I also realized that anyone that does not immediately agree with the OWS movement is utter corporate scum and should be burned at the stake. I am open minded now, which means anyone that doesn't agree with me is the enemy.

Then on the way out of the coffee shop I witnessed the brutality of seeing a glass of milk spilled. I did the only thing I could. I cried tears of righteous indignation.

OMDBS!

^^^This is honorable of you to stand up and defend your fellow wealthy Americans. Not only is it honorable, but it is honest and fair.

And I'm sure those same rich people you are looking out for made their money by being honorable, honest, and fair.
:puke:

I assure you these honorable, honest, and fair rich folks are very, very grateful that folks like you continue voting republican. It's the fair, honest, honorable thing to do. Because obviously if these people are rich, they must be doing everything right. And that includes being honorable, honest, and fair. We wouldn't want to treat them unfairly.

The wealthy have always been in favor of things like being honorable, honest, and fair. That's why there was never any need to create unions -- employees were always being treated so fairly by their wealthy company owners.

We need to keep things fair for the rich because they have ALWAYS LOOKED OUT FOR US!!

And one more thing:

By law they [the rich] have exactly the same rights, they have exactly the same protection from the police, fire, military and other forces, but they pay more than you.

This is an absolute joke. The people in public office make the laws. And the rich determine who gets into office.

So when you say "by law they have the same rights" that's fucken BS these motherfuckers make their own laws.

SO LET'S TREAT THEM FAIRLY!!!

(...forgot to take my meds today, sorry if I offended you)

Genius it is not about honor, it is about attracting rich tax payers to live in your country vs scaring them away.

Treat it like a marketplace of countries, every country offering different service for a different price.

If the price gets too high, the richman has a choice to move away and live in a country that offers him better living conditions (USA is not winning in the list of the best places to live).

Destroying (sometimes literally killing) the rich/noble/intelligent class was one of the biggest mistakes of the old communist revolution - a factory built by a richman that was once profitable, would very often go bankrupt under a new communist party appointed management - i know something about it, because the first 1/3 of my life i lived under a communist rule and i know my country and her history.

So when you say "by law they have the same rights" that's fucken BS these motherfuckers make their own laws.

What i meant is the fact that you can't find me a law that says something like this:

"If a poorman kills someone (or does any other evil deed) he gets xx of years in the prison.

If a richman kills someone (or does any other evil deed) he gets half the number of years in the prison."

What i also meant is the fact that if a richman calls 911, he can't tell them "i am very rich, so send me double number of officers and the best ones too", there is simply no law that would allow such a different treatment of any citizen.

Sure such things happen, but it is the fault of policemen who often unconsciously think that some rich guy has a bigger value to the society than some homeless guy.

What? There might not be a law regarding that it certainly happens. Most of the time. The rest of the time, the rich man just never goes to prison at all.

True.

But he has to spend an ungodly amount of money on lawyers to achieve that.

An ungodly amount which to some people/companies is peanuts.
It seems what you're saying is that if you've got enough money, the law doesn't really apply to you, and that's ok. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty amazed by the number of people who are
1) Against what the protesters are for, calling them lazy and whatnot
2) Against protesting in general, calling it whining and attention-seeking.
