I found a 4x12 cab called a New Legion Sound EMI-412s. Anyone familiar with them? Advise for or against. I'm going to be running a Peavey Triple X through it. I appreciate any help.

Dont buy anything from Madison Amps.

They dont live up to their warranty. I had a Divinity head for 3 months and it kept POPPING tubes. not burning out POPIING like glass everywhere kinda shit.

They said I did something to it ... when 2 other people had the same problem they said te same thing.

They make cheap SHIT !!!!

Get a Crate 4x12 if you want to go inexpensive and still get quality.

I have a Randall 4x12 cab I bought new for $475. It's got alot of emphasis on the low end, sounds phenominal. Alot of UMPH! for your dollar.

i am diggin' my peavey 5150 4x12 Cab right now, i got it for $250 used and sounds great.
If I could find a deal like that I'd jump on it too. A buddy of mine is giving me one of his old cabs but it needs new speakers. Any suggestions? It's a peavey cab

I will STRONGLY second the recommendation for both Avatar and Crate for low cost and high quality. What I like about my Crate is that it doesn't have a one-sound-signature bullshit thing going on - it can be high-mid heavy like a Marshall, low-mid focused like a Mesa, or anywhere in between, and the speakers basically shove that through without trying to be a 'classic' or 'signature' or anything like that; it basically just does what your EQ section tells it to do and doesn't try and enhance or tone down parts of your sound. The frequency response is just right for recording - I get tons of bite out of those speakers when I need it but I never have to worry about the cheap-shit fizzy sound that happen in so many other 'budget' amps.

If, however, you just MUST have those G12T-75s or those 30s or Greenbacks or what-have-you, Avatars work great too.

Either way, you're getting stuff that will work with you - when I got my Crate I was expecting it to be another step that I'd move on from later, but I've basically found something that I could stick with for under $300 (combo 212) and use just about anywhere.

I appreciate all the advise. I've been looking into Behringer cabs too. My buddy has one and plans on letting me try it out. He says it slays and for $250, can't go wrong.
