I've been toying w/ the idea of going back to a real amp and recoding directly using IRs. Now how would I go about doing this? I've got a DI box, so would I just run a line out from the amp head into the DI box? The other thing I was wondering about, volume. How would you keep the signal from not blowing yr. earphones?
Advice on how to use real amps and IRs to record w/ plz.

What amp? If it has an FX loop you can run out of the send in to your interface and put an impulse on that signal. Don't run an amp without a speaker or load box attached or you could cause damage to the amp.
No amp atm, just trying to figure out how to do this stuff before I buy anything.
Could you explain a little about the load box?
