Just wondering, which Amorphis album i should buy next? Ive got Far From The Sun and Tales From The Thousand Lakes, both excellent, im just stuck on which one to buy next...

i only have tales from the thousand lakes, that's on of my favourite albums, just havn't got around to buying any more yet...

It depends on which one you like better. If you like Far From The Sun better, I would get Tuonela. If you like Tales From The Thousand Lakes Better, I would get Elegy.

As for me, Tuonlea is my favorite Amorphis album.

The Karelian Isthmus

Elegy and Karelian Isthmus are their best albums imo, albums like Tounela and Am Universum have their moments (divinity, The Way, Veil of Sin, etc) but overall i find them lacking in quality in an album as a whole. Ever since Elegy Amorphis have been ona creative downturn imo, i just don't find their albums after Elegy all that inspiring.

I think "Tuonela" is by far their most well-established work, as well as my favorite album of theirs. Plus, it's a great blend of the old Amorphis days and the new. Yet "Elegy" is a very good album nonetheless. Get them both, you won't be disappointed. Also, "The Karelian Isthmus" is their weakest album in my opinion, I don't think they really became any good until Tales, but that's just me...
