It's time for the hodge podge to go. I'm looking to dump my mbox 2 and firepod and snag something like a profire 2626 or whatever you guys suggest if you have something better in mind (under $600 used with more than 10 I/O).
Advise me on my next interface.

someone was offering brand new Profire 2626's with a copy of Slate Drums 3.5 EX for like 540 last week. I saw it on here. This was brand new, from some online store.
Yeah, from a firepod it's actually a pretty big step up in that:
It has 26 I/O instead of 10.
It has nicer preamps.
It can run 192K instead of 95k (not that I care at all about this).
All the connections are on the back (I can't tell you how much I hate having them on the front).
Just time for something better.

the profire 2626 is probably the best interface out there for that price range.

Yeah, I don't use pro tools that much. Honestly, I don't have any expansions either so going from LE to m powered wouldn't be that much of a change. But I don't know if I'm gonna bother or not.
Doh, it wasn't 540, it was 570, but still a good deal...I got lucky and paid 525 for my Profire2626 from Amazon.com. For a while they would fluctuate almost daily around the time I bought mine. They went as low as 499 and the highest I've seen them on Amazon was 640.

Just checked, they are 544 on Amazon right now, some with free shipping, some 10 dollar shipping.
Eh all well, I pad $549 on the nose so seeing how they are on amazon I'm fine with that.

I went from LE with an Mbox to M-Powered and there is literally no difference what so ever (other than the little red circle instead of an orange one on the boot up
)
It has it, just uses a breakout cable instead of having the port on the back.

I fucken love this thing. The DSP mixer is fucking rad. I was sort of in the mind set that it would be a little gimicky, but it's totally fucken sweet. On my old POS firepod there was no way to monitor scratch guitars and drums in stereo. With this, no problem.
Old setup for drums and scratch guitar: Take output of firepod and output of UX2 (while running the UX2 via s/pdif into firepod) and go into the HP4 and run the HP4 in mono: SUCKED.
New setup: Run UX2 via s/pdif into profire and monitor through the profire's DSP mixer in stereo.
FUCKING RAD!

If it's anything like the original Firestudio, it has worse conversion and questionable preamps in comparison, as well as not being able to run PTMP.
