I was thinking about getting the 2626. Do you think I should get two of them for 16 channels or get another interface?

If it's anything like the original Firestudio, it has worse conversion and questionable preamps in comparison, as well as not being able to run PTMP.

It's completely different. I picked it up for 400$ and was shocked at the quality. The pre's are neutral, and they give a good amount of juice. The conversion is fine, I used to have a EMU1616m, same converters as the Protools HD machines, and there's no obvious difference. Not sure about the protools, that's probably the kicker. I'm a Reaper user.

get 1 profire 2626 and then link up another preamp/ADC by ADAT, should be better value for money in theory
