After 100's of songs, and 100's of riffs, I've finally found the greatest riff ever.

I've never heard of this band or this riff, but I'm going to go ahead and assume it sucks ass.

They are good considering they are all teenagers, but I would hardly say they have the greatest riffs or even one riff. Personally my fav is Angels Holocuast by Iced Earth as far as one riff goes.

Angels Holocaust? which riff? personally i dont remember any particulary impressive riffs in that song (that one riff with the chants is cool but i think its all in the chants), its a good song though

i would say the greatest riff i heard was in the 'the glass prison' by Dream theater, and alot of In Thy Dreams' stuff is very catchy

This is kind of an odd choice and not my favorite by far, but I really like the riff in The Phantom Opera Ghost...where he is playing unplugged for a while and it suddenly switches over to your standard Iced Earth style. Keep in mind, I don't know jack about guitars or playing them.

Being that yu mention pantera and black sabbath im going to assume you havent heard much other stuff. I just listen to that riff its good, but by no means the greatest. As for metal88 heh i dont think he knows too much either.

Some great death metal riffs I've heard are found in the song "Graced By Fire" by Luciferion (third track of their first and only CD). Listen to it. You won't be dissappointed.

Black Sabbath's debut has some of the best riffs, for their originality alone, that album essentially created metal.
