Airline Tickets

Texas to Atlanta is very expensive, sadly. Hence why I didn't make it to your Madfest.

Rates are always cheapest on the airline's site. I use expedia to find tickets, then I go to the airline to order.

I just got my ticket from Houston to Atlanta (nonstop) for $228 on AirTran. This is the first year it's been over $200. I have been waiting until July or later, but this year that looks like a real crap shoot. With fuel costs going up so much, I am not complaining.

Chris :headbang:

Lucky you... which airport? National or Dulles?

Steve and I are flying out of Richmond because we hate the CF that either National or Dulles has become. We paid more, but I think we'd rather do that than put up with the !@#$%%^^&* of DC traffic. :puke:

I fly out of Dulles, as it's the closest to me. You guys are in a bad place as far as airports go - gonna be a trek no matter which direction you take.

You might be best just driving at that point eh? The time you waste in airport lines, flying, waiting for luggage, etc... you seem like somebody who would be far more relaxed and happy doing the drive.

FYI, United just announced a drop in ticket prices from basically today through November. Check it out. Maybe you can get a cheaper flight.

Keep your fingers crossed that fuel prices keep dropping. Maybe the economic recovery will be quicker than we all expected.

Anyone running into issues with constantly changing flight times? At the rate my flights are going (4 hrs later than my original flight to Atlanta), we're not even going to make it in time for the Hellish Rock show.

My original flight got canceled, and I had to pick a different one. Now I'll be arriving about 2.5 hours later than I originally was. To top it all off, I didn't get the seat I wanted, even though I paid an extra $12 to pick my seat ahead of time, and they didn't refund my $12. This will probably be the last time I fly AirTran.

For anyone that hasn't purchased a ticket yet or for any future trips, try Farechaser.com

Great site. You can input a trip you want to take and they will monitor the fares for that trip and keep you updated via e-mail immediately as the prices change.

Mine just changed for the third time. American is who I'm flying. So far *crosses fingers and toes* it's only been a few minutes each time.

As I have said in this thread I purchased my tickets in Feb, thru Frontier airlines for $242 round trip, because at the time the R/T on delta was $652, well Delta screwed me again, by offering on thursday R/T El Paso to Atlanta (departing 7am arriving 12:30pm) for $178 R/T(including taxes and fees, well that just sucks big time, as I have a non-refundable, non changeable from Frontier. Way to go Delta. Oh Yeah the American ELP to DFW to ATL (that would put me on the same flight as Todd and Rick) was listed at $198 R/T.

How did Delta screw you? You said you bought your tickets in Feb right? And Delta dropped their prices the last couple of days? Airline prices are like playing the lottery sometimes. The earlier you purchase and later you purchase can be cheaper. Anyone thats flown multiple years to PP knows that. And since you booked with another Airline not Delta. Delta never screwed you. You're just frustrated you didn't wait and rightly so.

Plus, with the gas prices and people staying away from travel they probably dropped the prices across the board.
