Album of the year predictions

I predict that Dark Tranquillity will deliver the album of the year.
Which album do you think will be the best of 2002?

yup, Dark Tranquillity's new one wil be the best of 2002, but then again you're asking at the DT forum.

I'm also interested in Opeth's double album.

I would say so. I just hope that 2002 will be a great year for D.T

 

[Blind Tranquillity]

I say that the new Blind Guardian album, A Night At The Opera, is, and will keep being, the album of the year...
It will be very hard to top such a masterpiece.

But I still have very high expectations from Dark Tranquillity's new album.

But it's hard to know what they will come up with.

Blind Guardian are in constant progression (IMO) while Dark Tranquillity are always trying new stuff but their new stuff is not always better than the old....

Although it's still very early and I don't know all the major releases that will come out this year. But there's one release that i think that'll top everything else : Arcturus' "The Sham Mirrors", it's definitely the album i expect the most and i believe that this extraordinary band will produce another masterpiece. And considering the fact that Opeth and Dark Tranquillity will release new album it's going to be a great year for extreme music.....

yep, in to my mind its very hard to foresee the development of DT.

adding more keys to the basic sound (haven) was great.... like the other albums it got one of my all-time-favs....


i think that we all have to wait for this new jewel and hopefully nobody of us would be dissapointed !!

mmmmmmmm.....well I don't know if Opeth will finally will release double album this year of the beginings of 03
in that case.....
I suppose Dark Tranquillity will be killer (possible release in late august)
New Blind Guardian is my fave up to March, we'll se what's on from here...
then it's between Dream Theater, Dimension Zero and Soilwork, but still some great stuff to be out for sure

and also Opeth will definitely release a masterpiece..i feel it
and the same goes for my favourite porno-freaks,namely Solefald
and i'm also waiting impatiently for the Virus album...
it will definitely be a good year...

It's too damn hard to say! I tried predicting last year's album of the year and i had to keep changing it when newer albums came out!! Among the finalists would be Kalmah, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, In Flames, Nevermore, and The Crown. I'd have to pick one of these guys and it's just too damn hard!

I talked with Martin on tuesday and he told me that the new album will probably be out in June.
