To thread starter: I find it amazing you are able to keep track of so many bands. That's awesome, I couldn't find the time.

I'm listening to Solefald right now---trying to get into them but lord they're nonsensical at times.

He didn't do that list himself, me and a few others contributed what we knew was going to be released this year, and ended up making a list, over at the Gamefaqs board.

Oh, as for Solefald, it is worth listening to them until it clicks with you, it took me a while to like them, but I love them now. If you are looking for the easiest album to get into, I'd say Pills Against the Ageless Ills. >_>

The Chasm are reissuing their first albums hopefully

man... I can't wait for new Spawn of Possession.

also, is the Chasm considering remixing the reissures? It'd be nice to hear Deathcult for Eternity with some better production.

The new Reverend Bizarre is going to be the Teutonic Witch EP and will once again be 74 minutes long.

Sculptured probably won't release anything this year. Don's taking his time with the material, and only has about five songs written. Next year, probably.

Albums I've already listened to:
The Legion - Revocation is fantastic, similar to Marduk
Kataklysm - In the Arms of Devastation is great
Witchery - Pretty good, but I'm not really into them
Norther - pretty good
Krisiun - not a huge fan of them, much better than their last album
In Flames - meh, don't care for them
& some other bands (Venom, Meloncolia Estatica, not sure what else)

Upcoming releases that I'm aware of/can think of:
Darkthrone - liked what I've heard so far
Belphegor - upcoming album should be awesome
Cradle of Filth - I admit I have low epectations
Dimmu Borgir - Supposed to be an epic, holding high expectations for them.
Thorns - s/t album was great, hopefully this one will be.
Satyricon - Curious to to know what this will sound like. Its been 4 years since Volcano
Gorgoroth - Anxiously awaiting this one, "Twilight.." was fantastic.
Cannibal Corpse - supposed to be brutal, sounds like its worth checking out.
Isahn - new project sounds interesting
