Tomb Mold - Primordial Malignity

This album strikes a good balance between Finnish and American death metal influences. The level of brutality and weirdness is just right for me. The fact that Bloodborne is a clear influence on the band is also of interest.

Cult of Eibon - Lycan Twilight Sorcery

Bumped this up a few places on my 2017 list. Varathron worship performed so expertly it fits right in with the classics. Tops the list of the recent bands paying homage to the classic Hellenic sound imo. Here's hoping we see full-lengths from Ithaqua and Hierophant's Descent soon.

This has become one of my favorite Pentagram albums. Heavy as fuck and Liebling sounds demented on certain songs.

I'm fairly infatuated with the band. They're basically the continuation of Nirvana 2002. This is their second album.

When it comes to female metal singers for me, there's Doro Pesch, then everyone else, with few exceptions.

There happen to be many, many more female singers in metal who I think are superior to Doro, but she's a legend.
