Yea totally agree. They changed a little bit but their albums just lack the twists and turns that drive me to listen to metal in the first place. I honestly haven't listened to them enough to say definitively, but I just don't feel inspired to run their whole discography right now.

I think they have pretty clear eras within their discography.

They perfectly encapsulate what death metal just is and that's why I still consider them a world class band despite not necessarily being a fan boy myself. It's hard to even classify them as old school death metal OR brutal death metal because they're simply both and I'm not sure that anyone would even argue with that.

I just think there is more interesting shit that was done in the subgenre as a whole but I've been far more keen on Corpsegrinder era CC than I used to be. Bloodthirst is a masterpiece.
