Albums currently kicking your ass

I'm still undecided on the clean vocals. I can see that in places clean vocals might sound quite nice with the music, and the harmonization is great, but I think they should've had a guest singer do them, as the singing isn't exactly great.
Duh, that IS a guest singer. Maybe Mr. Friman should've had a go then? :D

The two opening tracks and the closer are the strongest ones on the album, I think, and The Lay of Autumn is also very beautiful, but the other songs don't stand out too much.
I sort of agree with this + Into the Woods has some awesome melodies.

Oh shit, you're totally right. My bad, I haven't been paying enough attention. Yeah, I'd like to have heard Ville Friman try clean vocals. Couldn't be worse than the guy they do have (Jules Näveri). Honestly I think the writing of the vocals is well done and well-placed but I don't like the singing. I think the part would have been perfect with someone who has a deeper, softer voice.

Lunar Sanctum is especially awesome.

"Lunar Sanctum" is an amazing song that really stands out from the rest of their catalogue. It's so damn groovy. And Khan's vocals are beyond awesome.

In my opinion, definitely. It's a one-man act, and he creates some amazing music. There are a lot of symphonic influences though, just to warn you; but it's very epic, and very pagan.

Portal--Swarth. Due out on October 20,09. Been listening for the last few days and this thing destroys(gotta a promo copy)Black/Death taken to a completely different level. Fractured and insane music, yet cohesive, if that makes sense. Vocalist wears a fuckin' clock on his head. Taking furniture to a new level as well. This music is ungodly.

Bizarre album. I think I liked it.
