Perhaps you should try listening again to Recremation (only one I've got), it's pretty good OSDM.

I've heard it and Terra Necrosis. Generic and nothing stands out imo.

Just the production kills it, but the songwriting is great IMO.

About half the songs here are excellent, and mark the return of black metal's greatest riff writer. Satan-Prometheus is seriously good, and was probably the best Norwegian black metal song in many years before Belus was released. Great stuff.

i think that is what i value so much in metal nowadays - intensity

not much i've listened to in metal is super intense like say consuming impulse, through silver in blood, the rack, melissa, etc. and that is why i've drifted from it

I think the newer one is much more tightly constructed. While that album is great, it feels a little disjointed at times.

As someone who loves thrash more than anything else in metal, I never did and still don't get what's so great about Ares Kingdom. Much rather listen to Tribulation as far as new death/thrash goes.
