Albums currently kicking your ass

I can agree with that. But that one almost seemed intentionally written to be a well liked track. "Nigredo" is so much more natural and has no contrived or forced feeling.

I could always look past the history and the old shit (De Mysteriis and earlier) and appreciate/enjoy every release. This is a solid record all around.

This is the first time I've ever heard this band, tbh. And holy fuck, this shit is unbelievable...what the fuck you guys? No one wanted to let me know this band is good?

that is their worst album too

check out everything but prioritize spirit the earth aflame and the gathering wilderness

That's not their worst album, but you definitely need to hear the Gathering Wilderness. You're not trv if you don't know the lyrics to The Coffin Ships.

Fucked up and ready to die,
Death takes a moment
Suffering is forever

I dunno what else could be - for me anyways

It is good, don't get me wrong, but it just way too "anthemic" I guess for what I want out of Primordial

Back in like 08-09 seemed like Primordial was getting posted on this thread every other day.

That may have been during one of my drug fueled emotionally pussified hiatuses, then. I'm going to listen to a couple more Primordial albums today on Spotify, though. Yay!

EDIT: Listening to The Gathering Wilderness now. Should I take this conversation to the BM thread?

I forgot that Shape of Despair event existed. I should revisit them for the first time in like 5 years. Loved the shit out that album when I was 18.

My friend was the one that really got me into this band. I always appreciated and respected the band, but never really blasted any of their full-length albums until I got drunk and wanted some true fantasy themed non-Stratovarius gay metal. The raging boner has yet to be satisfied, exceptt when I put on some Jag Panzer or Fates Warning or something...

This is like, one of those bands that is lumped with the European/Limp-Wristed Gay Power Metal bands that actually holds a candle to the trve/non-kvnt US power bands and proceeds to actually shit on them at times.

In other words. Blind Guardian is wonderful if you aren't a British faggot and love some of the most heterosexual music out there.

Also, power metal is extremely better when drinking tequila and shitty beer.
