cannot stress enough how much @Slayed Necros needs to hear this, and @CiG as well. like if viking era bathory got resurrected as an unhinged undead warrior and tried to reconstruct the shards of his broken mind. ends with the craziest metal diss track ever, even better than that demoniac one from a couple years ago.

Can it really be 40 years? Great EP! "Victim of Fate" is one of my three favourite Helloween-songs, also because of the fantastic guitar-solos.

I fucking love this album. I am going to the legendary Swiss city of Montreux soon, to pay my tribute to this great album. There is some monument there to the track Smoke on the Water. Pretty rad.

I'm going to side by side this with Screaming for a Vengeance again to see which I prefer.

I always found Defenders of the Faith's side B to be blatantly weaker than side A, whereas Screaming for Vengeance is pretty solid across the board.

I always found Defenders of the Faith's side B to be blatantly weaker than side A, whereas Screaming for Vengeance is pretty solid across the board.

It's a very strange album in that sense. It gets the pass for me since the high points are 10/10 moments, and the "worst" songs on it are "cinematic" (as I'd describe them) works that add a lot to the character of the album.

It's still a tough call so I'm withholding judgement for now.

Out of curiosity, how do you feel about "Some Heads are Gonna Roll"??
