A lot of people don't like this disc, but I think it's got some killer tunes on it.

Blue Oyster Cult, Imaginos. Great CD that approximately five people ever liked (I'm counting Benmech). Even the band never really got behind it, for various political/bullsh*t issues.

Six people? It's one of my favorites. I went through a BOC renaissance after I got that one. Yeah, they recycled some of the Bouchard brothers era stuff, but so what. They modernized them and made them better, IMO.

My fav Iron Maiden is Brave New World :) No one agrees with me on that, lol. I also love Renegade!

WRONG. Right here buddy :) I LOVE that album (BNW). I think it may be their best album ever. It'd be close between that and Seventh Son I think. It's just solid front to back, and I can't even blame it on being one of the first I got into because I already had all the classic stuff (#ofthebeast through Somewhere in Time). It's just great.

Some other stuff...

Rush - Whatever album any given person considers their 'bad stuff'. WRONG. Everything Rush does is GOLD. Hold Your Fire, etc, the 80s synthy years, GREAT.

Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity - I do feel it's among their weakest, but I still think it has great stuff on it, and I listened to it a lot when it came out.

Angra - Fireworks - It was their latest when I got into them and it did nothing to dissuade me from getting into them more. It's no Holy Land, but there is some fantastic stuff on there.

I did like Renegade when it came out, but then I became lactose intolerant (had to cut back on cheese!) and so I don't really listen to Hammerfall anymore, unless they're making a video with a swedish olympic team.

Good thread, now someone needs to post it's antithesis - Albums everyone thinks is the best thing ever and you think is lame crap. I think I have more of those right now than ones I love that everyone hates. But I'm not gonna start it. I'm too lazy.

Me too! And they all still had hair, except the singer. Was one of my favorite shows ever. Cyclone Temple was pretty awesome too, even.

The singer is in a cover band in Florida now; no idea what the rest of them are doing.

how about Savatage Fight for the Rock? Oh wait,I hate that album too with the exception of 2 or 4 songs

We could throw in Empty Tremor "Alien Inside"
Led Zeppelin Presence
Black Sabbath Never Say Die
Badlands Dusk

Magnitude 9 - Decoding the Soul
A highly underated, misunderstood, and brilliant album. Sure, many fans were turned off by the more "simplified" song structures and a lot of reviews slighted them heavily on the fairly muddy production; But, the songs are so well written and performed, with tons of hooks and crunch, it's easy to look past everything else. It's the best Mag 9 album hands down... Too bad Rob has stated the band is no more, for me, they were just starting to take off.

Scanner - Scantropolis
Yeah, Harridon Lee is NOT on this, and they opted for a female lead vocalist and a triggered drum/drum machine(?), which in turn, casued a rift with long-tiome scanner fans. To be honest, this album (which I bought at ProgPower III) was a bit of a shock when I first heard it, but after 3 or 4 spins, it really sunk in. It's defaintly a Scanner album with many of Axel A.J. Julius's tradmark song writting, but is also a bit more cerebral. #2 album from these guys next to "Mental Reservation". I noticed this in boB's list - I don't feel so lonley now!
:kickass:

Celtic Frost - Cold Lake
Okay, okay I love this album, so lick it...
It's sounds like any other Celtic Frost album to me, with Thomas G.'s brutal groove riffs and death grunts, but only with a more songs written in major keys, really cheesy lyrics and a very terrible band photo.
Funny how so many put so much stock into their image and lyrics when it comes to this album, that they never paid attention to how good the music actually was. This album was stigmatized so hard, that it's the only album in their back catalauge that Noise/Sanctuary DID NOT re-master and re-release. Lame.

All Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath albums
Why does general public hate the Sabbath albums without Ozzy? Screw all the Ozzy-elitists, Black Sabbth just got better after the Ozzman was fired.
Tony Martin was the best thing to happen to Sabbath since Dio....

Here are some other albums, some I've seen in this thread more than once in other peples poststhat I feel are also super-awsome-great... but many people would rather eat their own vomit than listen to:

Extreme - III: Three Sides....
Faith No More - King For A Day....
Voivod - Outer Limits
Riot - Sons of Society
Winger - ThisConversationSeemsLikeADream
all the 80's Chicago albums
Annihilator - Set The World on Fire
Saga - Wildest Dreams

I'm sure more will come to me later. :goggly:

A couple people mentioned Warrant's - Dog Eat Dog album. I LOVE this cd, pretty much every song is great on it I think.

Fucking classic album.

This and Winger 'Pull' are among the best albums on the "hair" era, but were poorly pushed and thrown by the wayside due to grunge.

Gonna go break these out now I think...

It's nothing personal... just a boy and his toy gun...

Megadeth--Cryptic Writings
Falconer--Grime vs. Grandeur
Deep Purple--The Battle Rages On
Iced Earth--Glorious Burden
Judas Priest--Jugulator

WOW! I agree 100% with everything you just said... and also, I want to have sex with your mangina.

To whoever said 'Dog Eat Dog' by Warrant and 'Pull' by Winger I agree that they are two of the best and heaviest albums of the hair era.

One band that doesn't get enough recognition and they have released two amazing albums is Hurricane. 'Over the Edge" and 'Slave to the Thrill' are both great albums.

Anything by Stryper. Alot of people love this band but just as many hate them.

'The Final Countdown' and 'Out of this World' by Europe. Yeah the first two albums are heavy as hell and great but these two kick ass in a lighter way.

'The World Needs A Hero' by Megadeth. I understand why a lot of people don't care for this album but for some reason it grabs me and I love it.

'Crazy Nights' by Kiss, c'mon this is awesome stuff. "I'll Fight Hell to Hold You" is a great song.

'Savage Amusement' by the Scorpions. Alot of people dislike this era of the Scorps. I think this is a great album and I'll have you know that "Rhythm of Love" is one of my favorite songs ever.

'Invasion' and 'All Systems Go' by Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Cheesy? Fuck yeah. Quality songs? Fuck yeah. "Boyz Are Gonna Rock", "Out on the Streets", "Love Kills", "Burn"...

'Turbo' by Judas Priest... so what they released one light in the ass album. 'Ram it Down' and 'Painkiller' were still to come. "Out in the Cold", "Locked In", "Private Property" = great songs.

'Jugulator' by Judas Priest. Highly underated. Just as heavy as 'Painkiller'. Yeah Halford is not there but suck it up cause this album rules with an Iron Fist.

'Dance of Death' by Iron Maiden. Okay horrible album cover. Alot of people say it was not as good as 'Brave New World' I say it's a great follow up.

'Stronger Than Ever' by Digger. Okay Grave Digger changed their name and lost their balls for an album. It is still rockin and the album is fun as hell. The Digger found their balls and released Tunes of War and The Grave Digger and all that great stuff.

I can go on and on and on and on...
