im looking at a cheap ESP LTD M-1000 which has some features that seem good, its got dual emg 81's, set thru neck and a Floyd Rose 1000 Series Bridge, which from what i can gather is a korean made floyd rose, don't know much about them, my experience with floyd rose has been the crappy licensed crap.

now, its got an alder body which is up in the air for me, i previously had a jackson rr3 pro, which was an alder body that i put emgs in them, sounded ok, but i got rid of it due to it being uncomfortable to play.

so what could i expect from this type of guitar? LTD M-1000 ?

A friend of mine has an M-II and I think it sounds great. Alder is a very balanced wood and less compressed sounding than some other popular guitar woods (mahogany) IMO.
I've also got an alder dinky w/ floyd and I really have no complaints about it.

My ESP M-1 NTB has an alder body/maple neck-thru and I absolutely love how it sounds. It's super tight and very aggressive, but never icepicky or overbearing in the high end, even when It had an 81 in it.
