Hi guys!
Until now I was playing on my Ibanez guitars, all with basswood bodies.
Now decided to change the wood on one of the guitars.

The question is: Alder or Mahogany body?

What tone change I should expect , I really like singing mids and highs...
In fact I love the sound of basswood, just need a little more overtones and a pinch of "that Fender" tone...

What is your opinion and advice?

Thanks,
Dimi

Well, for the Fender tone, I would also say go with alder. . .

Mahogany is rounded and pretty bass-heavy. Although it can do the "singing" tone too, just another timbre of singing.

Anyways, if you'd like to try my one-piece-bodied thick African mahogany guitar with duncans and hear for yourself, you know where to find me.
