Alder or Mahogany body for my Ibanez project.

Hi guys!
Until now I was playing on my Ibanez guitars, all with basswood bodies.
Now decided to change the wood on one of the guitars.

The question is: Alder or Mahogany body?

What tone change I should expect , I really like singing mids and highs...
In fact I love the sound of basswood, just need a little more overtones and a pinch of "that Fender" tone...

What is your opinion and advice?

Alder for sure based on your description. Key words included "singing highs" and "Fender.
Mahogany would be significantly darker than basswood.

Well, for the Fender tone, I would also say go with alder. . .

Mahogany is rounded and pretty bass-heavy. Although it can do the "singing" tone too, just another timbre of singing.

What i saw is that the most of hi-end ibanez guitars like J Custom are made from mahogany...
For now I have Dimarzio Tone zone, Breed and Paf pro for testing.
