The Greek and Hebrew languages didn't have numbers so letters of names were added up to create numbers. For instance, A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, and so on. It's called Gematria. The number of Jesus in the Greek language is 888.

I knew a bit about this before but I looked it up to round out the info. The site I found that had the best overall description of what is believed was this one:

I'm glad you are good with other languages. We Americans is smarts in some ways, but not with language. I have been married to a Japanese girl for over five years and I only know how to say things like.... "I need to regurgitate."
