ALESTORM Announce North American Tour

Scottish Pirate Metallers ALESTORM are returning to North American shores this fall for a headline tour. They are taking Trollfest and Gypsyhawk along for the ride. The tour kicks off November 11th in Santa Ana, CA and will run through December 5th in Atlanta, GA. A complete list of dates can be found below.

ALESTORM formed in 2006 and after gaining a cult following in their local scene, they quickly inked a record deal with Austria's Napalm Records. After a few line-up changes early on, the band eventually settled on their current swashbuckling crew comprising Christopher Bowes, Daniel Evans, Gareth Murdock, and Peter Alcorn.

Drawing on wide stylistic influences, such as Bal-Sagoth and Primordial to name but a few, ALESTORM released their debut album Captain Morgan's Revenge in 2008 to great critical acclaim, followed swiftly by their sophomore album "Black Sails at Midnight" in 2009. After cementing their reputation as a kick-ass live band with countless shows around the world, ALESTORM released their third album "Back Through Time" in 2011. The band will be releasing a DVD this fall as well. More details are expected to be announced shortly.

TROLLFEST are touring in support of their latest release and fifth studio album Brumlebassen. The album was released in Summer 2012 and features guest apperances Vreth of Finntroll and Mariangela from Tristania.

Based on their music, not having seen or heard them live, I imagine Alestorm to be a really fun band live, I will be at the Atlanta date.

I've seen them a couple times. The first time I enjoyed them a lot, but the second time the vocalist seemed kind of bored and didn't really even try to hit a lot of their notes, which kind of made me not interested in them any more. Their novelty has kind of worn off on me as well.

This is one of those bands that is a great support band, as they can be fun and get the crowd going, but I'm just not seeing them as a headliner.
