alex= testament dimebag= pantera

Alex all the way...Dimebag was alittle too exagerated and Alex's sound is superb, right noe I'm listening to the live album by SAVATAGE !

Dimebag was 100 times more original and had his own sound. Alex rips on the guitar and plays by the book. Dimebag just flat out kicked your fuckin ass with his brutal riffs and crazy solos. Even though Scholnik might know more scales and be more 'technical' I still wouldn't ever in a million years say he is better than Dimebag was. I have never in my life heard a guitar player with as much brutal power and his own signature sound as dimebag.

Dimebag gets a lot of respect, but ultimately Alex does it for me- with his work in Testament, TSO, and Savatage, he slays.

I'll go with Alex just cause I know him & is from the Bay area!I remember when Dimebag was "Diamond Darrel" wearing eyeliner & leopard print spandex in the little known pre Cowboy from Hell days.
