Yeah Alex got lucky - they didn't have the Squid yet when I was ordering, otherwise that's what I would have gotten. Also the pictures have stock pickups, he's getting Duncans put in before it ships out. The plastic look is camera-related I think. The thing should look matte.

I think it would have been the same in an 8-string configuration, but Alex got a seven so it was cheaper.
