2 and a half years and then pooof, one phone call and i'm on my own again.....

don't even wanna get drunk......which is strange for me.......:erk:

edit: correction, 1 TEXT! and then a following phone call

^ Most likely. A lot of chicks have a replacement cock before they dip. I find that strange personally. I've never been dumped, so far, I'm always doing the dumping but I don't do it because I'm replacing. I just can't stand her anymore and usually go at least a year before trying to get into another relationship. In other words, I'm not scared of being alone.

Anyways, drink up and sorry to hear dude.

My thoughts are with you my man, knocking back a couple of bottles of Cobra for you

Getting dumped does indeed suck - fortunately I seem to have found the one for me and my "getting dumped" days are over. She's been with me through the lowest of times and she still puts up with my bullshit. I've always looked at it in this way though - if you are in a relationship that does not work, it's just clearing room for the one that will. I meet my wife after a girlfriend of four years cheated on me while I was in the hospital with high odds of not making it out (I had a clotting condition and ended up in the hospital for 82 days with two episodes of pulmonary emboli). Thank God she dumped me - I might never have meet my wife otherwise.

So long story short - the pain will fade and hopefully you will be in a better place soon.

I'll tip one back for you my friend.

There's only one way to handle this:

DUDE.
IF YOUR FEELIN' DOWN AND OUT - CRANK UP THE FUCKING RIFFZ.

FUCK THE NEIGHBORS. FUCK THE PARENTS/ROOMATES. FUCK THE WORLD.

1. CHUG AT LEAST A 2-LITER OF MOUNTAIN DEW.
2. MAX VOLUME THAT SHIT & JAM ALONG AND SEND THAT DEPRESSIVE BULLSHIT TO HELL'S ASSHOLE.
3. PARTY.

But seriously, if all she gave you was one text and a phone call, you're better off separated from someone who thinks that's an acceptable way to end a two-year relationship.

if you are in a relationship that does not work, it's just clearing room for the one that will.

I think this is really worth repeating.
Relationships ending are never pleasant, even if it was on mutual terms, purely because it's the ending of a period of your life, but what's more important is that it's the start of a new one.
With every ending, comes beginning. With every death, comes rebirth.

Yeah dude, think of this as just stones in your path. Just a collective of experiences till you land on the person that "completes you". When my gf of 3 yr old broke up with me I literally felt I was never going to find anyone. Took me 6 months, literally found the love of my life :) Like Gareth said, with every ending there's a new beginning.

Such events are typically a cause for embracing clarity and reflection rather than trying to blot out any self-analytical thought with alcohol.
I'm sure the rest of the forum has drank more than enough on your behalf :)
